DongHae
I burst through the hospital doors, my cap pulled firmly over my head. It was raining outside, so I had a reason to be wearing one, though it was really to keep anyone from recognizing me. Hyuk and Min burst in after me, both of them soaked to the core.
I stared around wildly, ignoring the stares of the people standing around. I probably looked crazy to them.
There was a sudden commotion in the corridor. A nurse rushed past me, pushing me into Hyuk.
"What's going on?" said Min, looking worried. He pulled his cap further down his head. He wasn't very used to wearing hats, not like Hyukkie and me.
The tension in the hall grew even more. Doctors were flying from all over the place, pushing us around, but I didn't complain; someone was definitely in a critical condition.
Then the unexpected.
There was a yell that sounded like "Hyuk!" only I wasn't sure, it was too noisy. Then someone crashed right into Hyuk, a girl with shot wavy hair and a fringe. She was sobbing, wrapping her arms around his neck. Hyuk looked bewildered, then pulled away slightly and looked at her properly.
"HyunJae!" he yelled in shock. She looked at him with eyes as red as the devil.
SungMin hurried to her, asking her questions to the dozen.
I wasn't listening.
Everything was muffled.
Because if HyunJae had just run from that direction...
The world blurred around me.
I was flying down the corridor blindly, hearing nothing, feeling nothing.
There was only one thing on my mind.
JaeHwa.
Suddenly the world was full of noise;panicked yells and screams.
I was flattened against the wall as I was nearly ran over by a stretcher.
I stared at it as it went past.
And stared into the bloodstained face of Lee JaeHwa.
JunSu
She was drifting in and out of consciousness.
I'd never get that last image of her out of my head now. The first time I had seen her since she'd moved to Japan.
I'd waited so long to see her. So long.
It had all gone so so wrong.
It might be the last time I'd see her again.
General point of view
"JunSu!" yelled JaeHwa. "HyunJae!" She waved ecstatically, her heart feeling like it would burst from happiness.
Across the road, JunSu was smiling. Smiling so hard he thought his face would rip itself. He had been waiting for so long, waiting ever since she had left. They were bound, and he would always be there for her. No matter what.
This was the moment.
Finally.
He looked over at HyunJae, standing next to him. She was smiling too, but there was no way she felt the way he was feeling. After all, she'd seen her a few months ago. And she already had her brand new beau. He'd met him once. He was pretty quiet, and a bit old for her... but JunSu could see she liked him. Alot.
He remembered that little pang of jealousy when he first met HyukJae.
He was glad that it as gone now.
"Why couldn't we pick her up from the airport?" he asked Hyun.
"Because she spent the day with her family, silly," HyunJae replied. She felt a little shiver of happiness at the thought of JaeHwa seeing DongHae again. They were made for each other. She smiled even more.
The traffic didn't seem to be stopping.
JaeHwa stepped forward when she saw an opening in the steady flow of traffic. She was so close to them now. Just a little more.
She didn't notice how close she was to the cars going past.
JunSu watched her looking left and right, inching forward every now and then. A bad feeling began to grow in him, but he brushed it off. She was shining. She was so happy. He smiled for her, smiled because the three of them were together again.
And then it happened.
"Jae!" HyunJae yelled out, making JunSu jump out of his skin. "Jae, look out!"
JaeHwa looked up, and at the same moment a car went past. Her bag got caught on the side-view mirror, and she was flung to the ground.
JunSu saw it all in a blur. One moment she was standing up, the next she was on the ground. He watched her hoist herself up, looking a bit groggy. "Get up, Jae!" he yelled, his heart beating furiously. "Get off the road!" He got ready to run forward.
She'd scratched her knee, and felt a bit stupid sitting on the road like that. You're an idiot, Lee JaeHwa, she thought, and tried to sit up. There was a loud beeping behind her. She turned her head around and that was when the world went black.
"JAEHWA!" HyunJae screamed, so loud that JunSu was sure that the glass windows in the offices above would break.
His world had just fallen apart.
He watched the car come up behind her, and the driver struggling to slow down. He was desperately honking at her, but her reactions were too slow. And he could only watch in horror as his best friend was hit by that car, as she flew a few centimeters backwards. He could only see the look of shock on her face, could only hear the thunk as her head hit the road.
He could do nothing.
HyunJae ran forward, her mind reeling. "No, no, Oh God, no," she muttered under her breath, her heart hammering nineteen to the dozen. She flung herself down beside her best friend, and felt something warm between her fingers. She looked at them.
They were covered in scarlet blood.
She screamed, jumping backwards into someone's legs. She looked up and felt JunSu sink down beside her. He weakly checked for JaeHwa's pulse, his jeans turning red.
"Hyun..." he said flatly, breathing hard. "Call the ambulance."
She felt paralyzed. Her brain wasn't working.
"HYUN!" JunSu screamed. "NOW!"
"We've called them, son, come away from her," said an ahjumma, pulling HyunJae backwards, but she fought, trying to get closer to JaeHwa.
"JaeHwa!" she screamed, over and over, wishing that JaeHwa would open her eyes, would sit up and say that it was all a joke, that she was alright.
And they'd link arms and hang out in the mall like they'd plan to.
There was only one thing she could think of doing right now.
She pulled out her phone, speed-dialing and bringing the phone up to her ear, hands shaking, still covered in Jae's blood. No answer. She dialed again. An answer!
"HyukJae...?" she said, struggling to keep her voice from shaking.
No. It was DongHae.
She listened to them teasing each, and found herself laughing. It was high-pitched, not her laugh at all. And finally, she was hearing his familiar voice.
"Hyuk!" she screamed. "Hyuk, JaeHwa's been in an accident!"
"What?!" he yelled.
She started sobbing. "There's blood everywhere, her eyes aren't open and we've rung for an ambulance, Hyuk, I'm scared, I think she's going to die."
"Don't be stupid, Hyun, she'd not going to die!" he exclaimed. "Look, breath normally, take slow, deep breaths, and -"
"Oh my God, her eyes are open! Get DongHae here! Now!"
EunHyuk was about to sprint through the door when he heard a rustling sound, a crackling.
"HyukJae..." someone said weakly.
"JaeHwa..!" he said, gasping. "You're going to be fine, Jae, you're going to be fine." He could feel tears running down his cheeks. She was going to be alright.
"Hyukkie... tell... DongHae... that I... love him..." her voice trailed off.
He put a hand to his mouth, sobbing. She didn't sound like the JaeHwa he knew, the JaeHwa he'd come to love.
"The ambulance is here, Hyuk, get to the hospital as fast as you can," said HyunJae. Her voice was blocked up with tears, and he knew that she would be struggling to hold them back. She was always trying to.
"I'll try, Hyun," he said. He didn't want to tell DongHae, didn't want him to see Jae.
"I love you, Hyukkie."
"I love you, Hyunnie."
Click.
It was over.
JunSu
I stared up into a fmiliar face. I'd seen him before... somewhere...
Oh. That's right. When Jae was in the hospital. What was his name...?
Lee DongHae.
He liked her. I could tell the last time I saw them together. And she liked him too.
And then what happened?
She got hurt because of him.
A stab of anger went through me as I watched him gasp at JaeHwa's appearance. I'd said I'd be her bodyguard, and I meant it. Even though there was nothing much left of her to protect.
DongHae
"Jae..." I whimpered, struggling not to cry. Her hair was wet, the stretcher she was lying on covered in blood.
But I still loved her.
I brushed my fingertips against her cheek, running beside the stretcher.
Her eyes. Opened.
"Hae," she whispered. A weak smile. But a smile all the same. She struggled to bring her arm up, to try and touch me. It fell back down to her side. Her eyes closed.
And then they opened again.
I grabbed her hand, caressing it. I didn't care that my hand was now covered in her blood. That her friend JunSu was staring at me.
"Hae, I love you."
Tears spurted in my eyes. I'd always been the first one to say it.
The stretcher burst through the operating doors.
"Sir, please stay outside," said the nurse, pushing me back.
"Please save her," I pleaded, feeling the moisture running down my cheeks.
"We'll do our best," said the nurse, then left me, closing the operation room doors.
I never felt more alone.
I sank down against the wall, my head in my hands.
Someone crouched beside me.
Someone put their arms around me, hugging me.
I wished to God that it was JaeHwa.
But that was impossible.
I buried my head in Min's shoulder as he held me tight.
"She'll be fine, she'll be okay," he murmured, holding my head against him.
Hyuk sat beside me, hugging me as well. He said nothing, leaning his head against my head.
Maybe he knew that no words of comfort would work.
Maybe he knew that she might not be here tomorrow.
I loved Hyuk because he didn't always need to say what he felt.
HyunJae
They wheeled her into the operation theater.
She was gone.
I watched DongHae holding her hand. Watched her move her lips.
Watched him cry.
Watched JunSu lying on the hospital floor, shaking.
As Hyukkie ran to DongHae, I ran to JunSu.
"Su, it's going to be okay," I whispered soothingly, hugging him.
He pulled himself up and buried his head against my shoulder. I rocked him like a baby, like how I'd rocked TaeMin when he'd fallen down as a kid.
But TaeMin had never shaken this much.
It scared me.
But I still pulled him against me, closing my eyes and patting him soothingly.
He looked up at me with tears running down his cheeks.
"Don't leave me, Hyun," he whimpered. "Mianhae, but don't leave me."
I looked over at Hyuk, who nodded at me.
"I won't," I whispered. "I'm here for you."
I hoped to God that JaeHwa would be here for us too.

It's You Chapter 27
"JaeHwa, guess where I am now!" said DongHae excitedly as his image appeared on the screen.
"Umm, at home, in Korea?" I said, raising an eyebrow.
"No!" he squealed happily, then suddenly leaned to his right, disappearing out of the camera's view. What the... I thought, feeling a bit bewildered. He'd never told me he was going anywhere.
"DongHae..." I said warningly.
He popped his head back into the view, dragging EunHyuk in with him.
"Hey JaeHwa!" yelled EunHyuk happily.
"Hey HyukJae," I said, smiling. I'd taken to calling him by his real name lately, it gave a me a special feeling... like I was entitled to call them by their real names. "Where are you guys?"
"In Malaysia!" they said in unison, big grins on their faces.
"What?!" I said, shocked. Malaysia was an almost alien country to me... what the heck were they doing there?!
"We're here for the MTV Asia Awards!" squealedHyukJae EunHyuk.
"Wow, really?" I said disbelievingly. "That's great!"
"Yeah, it's really hot here..." said DongHae. "But our hotel room's fine. We're kinda trapped in here until we leave, there are so many fangirls outside. I had no idea we were so loved here."
"Don't be so big-headed, Lee DongHae," said LeeTeuk, walking past. "Hey JaeHwa."
"Hi Teukie oppa!" I replied brightly. A breeze blew in the window and I shivered slightly. Summer was ending, and the weather was getting cooler. I was only dressed in a t-shirt and shorts, sitting at the desk and missing HyunJae. I then felt a stab of guilt as I remembered that I hadn't talked to JunSu for a few weeks. Neglected... what a terrible friend I was.
"KiBum and HanKyung hyung aren't here with us though," said DongHae, looking sad.
"Why not?" I asked. "Where's KiBum? He wasn't with you in Japan either..."
"Oh, HanKyung hyung has stuff for the Olympics-"
"It's so excitinggg~" EunHyuk butted in, sticking his face right in the camera. DongHae pushed his head aside.
"- and KiBum has filming stuff, so he's stuck in Korea. It's kinda not as fun when they're not here... but we just make the best of it."
"Yeah, we make the best of it," said EunHyuk like a parrot, nodding his head.
"..."
"DongHae, what is up with your hair?" I asked. "It's too long. Get it cut."
"But I like it like this...!" protested DongHae. "Anyway, they did it for me, I didn't really choose."
"But you looked cuter with your short hair."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
"Okay, I'll cut it soon."
"What about me, JaeHwa? Do I look good?" asked EunHyuk. He started fixing his hair in front of the camera, using it like a mirror.
"I never knew you were so vain Hyukkie," said DongHae, pulling a shocked face.
"Only in front of JaeHwa," EunHyuk replied, laughing. "So what's the answer, JaeHwa? Huh?"
"You look nice Hyukjae, no worries," I said, laughing. "Better than DongHae's," I added, smiling evilly at DongHae.
"Ouch, what an insult!" said DongHae, acting hurt.
"Don't be, I'm extremely handsome," said EunHyuk.
"I think you just stole some of my handsomeness, that's why."
"But... I'm shining."
"But... you stink."
"Aishh!" EunHyuk scrunched his lips together. "I'm going to change. See you JaeHwa!" He got up and padded around the room.
"Umm, looking for something, Hyukkie?" asked DongHae, turning around to look at him.
EunHyuk put his hands on his hips, pursing his lips at DongHae. "Okay, I know you hid my clothes, now where are they, Lee DongHae?" he demanded.
"What are you on about, I didn't take your clothes!" protested DongHae. He turned back to the camera and winked at me.
"Don't think I didn't see that," said EunHyuk.
"I'll talk to you later, Jae," said DongHae, pulling an innocent face at the camera.
I laughed. "Take your time," I said.
"Saranghaeyo."
"Saranghaeyo."
The screen went blank.
Did I have a surprise for him. I couldn't wait for the term to be over.
"JaeHwa!" said JunSu happily as soon as his face appeared on the screen.
"JunSuuuu!" I said, smiling.
"I've missed you!" he said. "Even though Hyun's back, it's still lonely without you."
"Don't worry Jun, you might be seeing me sooner than you think."
"What are you on about, I'm seeing you now."
"I meant in person, stupid."
He perked up, his eyes shining. "Are you coming back?!" he yelled.
"Hmm, maybe," I said, smirking.
"Tell me, tell me!" he pleaded, looking ultra excited.
I laughed. JunSu was such a dork sometimes. "Okay, I'll tell you but don't tell HyunJae, right?"
"I promise!" he said happily. "We'll have our own little secret!"
I told him. But I didn't tell him about DongHae. I know it wasn't right not to tell one of my best friends, but I felt weird telling a guy about... well, another guy.
"I can't wait for you to come back," declared JunSu happily. "Now I won't be able to concentrate on anything else..."
"Don't be stupid, Jun," I said. "Make sure you study for your finals..."
"Aaargh I forgot about finals."
"Hey, don't ignore it because I'm coming back, ok?"
"Hmm..."
"Maybe I shouldn't have told you I was coming back..."
"No!!! Okay, okay, I was only joking! Of course finals are the biggest thing in my life right now."
"Good boy."
When I said he was a dork, I also mean to say that he could be such an idiot sometimes. But a loveable idiot all the same.
Now I really couldn't wait for term to end.
But first I had to get through my own exams.
*From now it will be from different people's point of view.
DongHae
Somewhere distant, a phone rang.
“Guys, someone’s phone is ringing…” I said, waving my arm vaguely. I was too tired to get off the couch, but the insistent ringing was annoying me. The ringtone seemed familiar… “HYUKKIE!” I yelled. “YOUR PHONE!”
The ringing stopped. Finally, peace again. I covered my face with my left arm, my right arm hanging off the couch. I was drifting off when the phone rang. Again.
That did it.
I jumped off the couch and ran to Hyuk’s room, grabbing the phone off the bed and looking at the screen. It was HyunJae. Those two talked more than JaeHwa and I did… but at least Hyukkie was happy. It was nice to see him happy.
“Yuheobsehyo?” I said, picking up.
“HyukJae…?” said HyunJae. I’d always found it funny how their names were vaguely similar… just a mispronunciation would get the wrong person’s attention. Don’t tell HanKyung hyung I was thinking of him.
“No, it’s DongHae… I’ll get Hyuk for you,” I said, making my way to the shower. I’M DESPERATE FOR SOME SLEEP. I banged the door open. The stupid boy forgot to lock the door. Again.
‘Hey, no taking pics of me while I’m in the shower, Hae!” said Hyuk, trying to cover himself up. I heard HyunJae laughing. I grinned evilly.
“I think I’ve seen enough of you, Hyukkie,” I said. “It’s a call.”
“Oh shit, it’s not my mum is it?!”
“No, it’s worse. It’s your girl.”
“Oh. Phew. Hang on, I’m coming out now.” Hyuk stepped out of the shower, wrapping a towel around himself. He took the phone from me. “Get out!” he said, pushing me out of the bathroom. He slammed the door behind me.
“Hey, be grateful I picked up, that’s the second time she’s called,” I called over my shoulder, flopping back on the couch. Peace. Lovely. I could hear Hyuk yelling "What?!" in the bathroom, but I didn't feel too worried. He was always yelling that. Well, I was always yelling that at him, so maybe it rubbed off.
I drifted off. The world faded out.
I was alone with my dreams.
"Hae!" someone shook my shoulder.
"Go away..." I said, turning on my side so my face was buried at the back of the sofa.
"Hae, wake up!"
"What is it?!"
"It's JaeHwa..."
I turned around and stared right into Hyuk's tear-stained face. What the hell was going on...?
"What is it..." I whispered.
"She... she..."
"HyukJae!" I yelled, sitting up and grabbing him by the shoulders. I shook him. Hard. I didn't mean to hurt him, but I was scared. My heart was jumping out of my chest.
"DongHae!" said SungMin, coming into the living room. He looked like he just got out of bed, which he probably just did. "Stop shaking Hyuk like that, you'll hurt him." He stopped, staring at Hyuk. "Hyukkie... what...?"
I looked back at Hyuk. He stared back at me through red eyes.
"Hyukkie..." I said. "What. Happened. To. JaeHwa?"
"What?" said Min, looking between us. "What's going on, you two?"
I ignored him. Min was easy to ignore sometimes.
Hyuk opened his mouth and closed it. He looked even more of a fish than me.
"Hyuk!" I pleaded. "You're killing me!"
"JaeHwa..." Hyuk whispered.
"Yes...?" I urged him.
"She... she got into an accident."
My brain froze over.
My heart stopped.
I could no longer feel Hyuk's shoulders between my hands.
I was no longer living.
Incredibly, my mouth was still working. But it wasn't my mouth, wasn't my voice coming out. I wasn't there. I was screaming, but no one could hear me.
"What...?" I heard the alien voice say.
"Are you serious?" yelled Min.
Hyuk nodded. A fresh tear slipped down his face. "She's unconcious. They... they're taking her to the hospital now."
"I've got to go..." said the alien inside me. I stood up shakily, and all the feeling came flooding back.
"Hae..." said Hyuk, standing up too, his arms around me.
"Let me go, Hyuk, I've got to go," I said, and tears slipped down my face. I broke free of him and ran to the door.
"No Hae, you can't!" said Min, sprinting after me and pulling me back. Damn him for being a martial arts champ.
"LET GO OF ME!" I screamed. Was that really my voice? I sounded like a girl. Damn, I was turning into HeeChul hyung. Don't tell him I said that either.
Everyone started coming out of their rooms. Was my scream really that freaky sounding...?
"What's going on?" demanded Teukie hyung, coming out of his room. KangIn hyung followed him, rubbing his eyes.
"We're trying to sleep, you three!" said Sunggie hyung, looking scary with his hair all over the place.
"What..." said Kyungie hyung when he saw us.
"Hae... Hyuk.. are you crying?" demanded Won, a concerned look on his face.
I collapsed to the ground, hands over my face. I had no more strength left. Hyuk flung himself down next to me.
"SungMin, what's going on?" said Teukie hyung.
"It's JaeHwa..." whispered SungMin. I knew he was in shock too. He loved her almost as much as I did, but in a different way. I never begrudged him that. Everyone loved her. And evreyone loved SungMin anyway. It was impossible not to.
"I can't hear you, SungMin..." said HeeChul hyung. "Speak up!"
Tears ran down Min's face. This was torturing him. I felt so bad for him. It was my problem, not his. Hyuk hugged me close and I buried my face in his shoulder.
"JaeHwa's in an accident!" Min yelled suddenly.
Hearing Min say that just made it final.
"Umm, at home, in Korea?" I said, raising an eyebrow.
"No!" he squealed happily, then suddenly leaned to his right, disappearing out of the camera's view. What the... I thought, feeling a bit bewildered. He'd never told me he was going anywhere.

It's You Chapter 26
"What time's our flight, KiBum hyung?" asked RyeoWook.
Manager KiBum looked at his watch. "9pm. We'll have to leave by 7."
DongHae turned to me, looking anguished. "Can JaeHwa.... sshi and HyunJae sshi come to the airport with us?" he asked hopefully.
"I don't think so," said KiBum, shaking his head. "There'll be no one to take them back and their parents are waiting for them."
The others lapsed into crestfallen silence.
"I don't want to leave Japan," said SungMin quietly. KiBum got up and left the room. Once the door closed, SungMin plonked himself beside me on the bed and draped his arms around me. "We don't want to leave you again."
HeeChul draped an arm over HyunJae's shoulder. "Yeah. I mean, I can totally remember what happened the last time we... I mean, you left us." He looked at HyunJae. "And you're pretty fun to be around."
"Chullie hyung, get off her or EunHyuk will kill you," said SiWon jokingly, glancing at EunHyuk.
We all fell silent, remembering the time when EunHyuk had attacked SiWon.
"SiWon... about that time... well, I'm sorry," said EunHyuk suddenly, breaking the silence. SiWon patted him on the arm.
"That's okay, hyung, I forgave you a long time ago," he said, smiling. He turned to HyunJae. "Anyway, you two are probably more perfectly matched than me. You're cute together... after DongHae and JaeHwa anyway."
"Aww, thanks SiWon oppa," said HyunJae with a smile. "But I totally disagree with being second after JaeHwa and DongHae," she added, laughing.
"Uh oh, couple fight!" said YeSung, rolling off the other bed and covering his head with his hands.
"Don't be such a dork, YeSung," said KangIn, as EunHyuk jumped off the bed too and joined him on the floor. Everyone burst out laughing.
"Hey, you're supposed to be backing me up!" said HyunJae, smacking her forehead. EunHyuk turned on his back and looked up at her.
"I don't like fighting..." he said. "Especially with DongHae."
"You're such a wuss, Hyukkie."
"Hey!"
"Don't pick on Hyukkie like that!"
"Weren't you guys arguing earlier?"
"That's our problem!"
"Don't be rude, Lee DongHae."
"Shut up!"
"Don't think you're not included, Lee HyukJae."
"Guys, I've got a headache..."
"Shut up Lee SungMin."
"Hey, I'll get my nunchucks out if you don't shut up soon."
"Don't be stupid, you left them back in Korea."
"What are you, stupid? You're in Japan, land of the ninja."
"You'll still have to go and buy them."
"Actually, I've got a nunchuck in my bag..."
"HanKyung! How'd you get that past customs?"
"I said it was fake..."
"And what were you thinking of doing with them...?"
"Attacking some crazy fangirls?"
"No...!"
"Look at him, you've scared the hell out of him, Kim HeeChul."
I had enough.
"Guys, SHUT UP!" I yelled over the voices.
NO-one took any notice.
I looked over at the other bed, where HyunJae was laughing her head off. She was obviously enjoying herself. I sighed. Super Junior seriously didn't know when to shut up sometimes.
"Oh my God, you guys are so annoying."
"Don't use the Lords name in vain, HyukJae!"
"SiWon, why are you even a singer... you should be a priest."
"Thought of it..."
"No! You're not leaving Super Junior!"
"Don't be stupid RyeoWook, as if I'd leave you guys."
"Just making sure."
"None of us will ever leave Super Junior, right?"
"Right!"
"Of course!"
"SuJu forever!"
"Wooot!"
"Are you guys done yet?" asked HyunJae. "We're running out of time..."
Everyone turned to her. "Sorry HyunJae sshi," said LeeTeuk. "Sometimes we get too caught up when two people start arguing... everyone just joins in."
"We noticed," I replied with a laugh. DongHae plonked himself next to me on the bed and put his arms around my neck. He rested his head on my shoulder.
"Aaawwww," said everyone.
He burst out laughing. I started laughing too.
"And that's the reaction that fangirls have when they see you!" said HyunJae, laughing with me.
"But... they're so cute!" said SungMin, a happy smile on his face. "I feel like hugging someone now," he added, and dragged KyuHyun towards him.
"Aww, hyunggg," said KyuHyun, but he was grinning.
I tilted my head backwards so my head was on DongHae's shoulder. He took his head of my shoulder so he could look at me properly.
"Give her a kiss, DongHae," said YeSung with a grin and a raised eyebrow.
"Shut up hyung," said DongHae, glaring at him. "Would you kiss KangIn if I asked you too?"
"I'm not in love with KangIn, so there's a difference."
"What did you say?!" KangIn stormed up to YeSung and raised his hand like he was going to hit YeSung.
"SarangHae SarangHae SarangHae SarangHae SarangHae SarangHae SarangHae SarangHaeYo KangIn...!!!!!" yelled YeSung, squeezing his eyes shut and curling into a ball on the bed.
Everyone burst out laughing. "Good boy, hyung," said KangIn, patting Yesung on the head.
During all the commotion DongHae brushed his nose against my cheek.
"I wish I didn't have to leave you again," he muttered, and I could feel his breath against my neck.
"Nevermind, webcam's fine as well," I whispered back.
"Don't think I can't see what you two are doing," said HeeChul, raising an eyebrow.
DongHae untangled his arms and threw a pillow at him.
---
"Right, everyone packed?" asked KiBum.
I sighed, standing outside my hotel room with my bags at my side, while HyunJae closed the door slowly. DongHae and LeeTeuk stood directly across from us, slumped against the wall. Well, DongHae was. LeeTeuk was trying to be optimistic, but his smiles were too sad.
"Wait HyunJae," I said, pushing the door back open. "I... uh... think I forgot something."
I stuck the keycard back in the slot and stared around the room. I wondered if DongHae was having the same idea as me.
I turned as the door opened behind me. There he was. I smiled, head cocked to one side, savouring this last look of him. Tousled hair, sneakers, I took a mental picture of him and stored it in my memory. He dropped his bag and came towards me, pulling me to him and hugging me. I rested my head on his shoulder, closing my eyes. It felt... nice. Peaceful. I could have stayed like that forever.
After a few seconds we broke apart. "Can't be too long, KiBum hyung wants to leave soon," said DongHae, sighing a little.
"I wish time would stop now," I said, looking down at the floor.
"Do you want to stay 18 forever?" asked DongHae.
"If it means being with you... then yes."
"Then join me in life of the undead," he said, very seriously, but his mouth twitched, giving him away.
"You wish you were," I said, laughing.
He wrapped his arms around me again. He leaned forward for a kiss but I put a finger over his lips.
"Only if you promise not to bite," I said, smiling. He laughed.
"Don't worry, I'd never hurt you," he said, eyes sparkling.
"You did before," I said. "And we were saying goodbye then too."
"Geez, did you have to bring that up?"
"Yes."
"Fine, I'm really sorry. I'll make it up to you. Here." He kissed me softly on the forehead.
"That all?"
"A bit demanding today, are we?"
"God knows the next time I see you, don't I deserve more?"
"Aish, don't remind me."
"DongHae!" yelled LeeTeuk from outside. "Are you done looking?"
"What did you tell them?" I asked.
"I told them I'll help you look for whatever you lost," he said, smiling.
"Is EunHyuk 'helping' HyunJae?"
"No, HyunJae's helping EunHyuk."
We both laughed silently.
"We're leaving now!" yelled LeeTeuk.
"Aish, we spend too much time talking," sad DongHae, with a -.- expression.
I laughed. He looked at me and then put his hand in my hair, running it down until it rested on my neck. I cocked my head to one side, then flung my arms around him and kissed him quickly. He pulled my head closer, all pretense of gentleness gone. His mouth was slightly open...
"DONGHAE! JAEHWA!" yelled Leeteuk.
We broke off, my heart beating wildly. "What a moment spoiler," grumbled DongHae. He held my hand as we walked slowly to the door. Suddenly he turned and kissed me gently on the lips.
"Nan neoreul saranghae," he said, the opened the door. I squeezed his hand quickly to let him know that I loved him too.
As we walked out, our hands let go.
---
"Hello girls," my dad said happily, as he gave me a hug. He held me at arms length. "You both look wiped out."
"So what did you guys do?" asked my mother as we got into the car.
HyunJae and I looked at each other. I instantly flashed back to going out with SuJu, meeting DongHae beside the pool, sneaking out to the beach, hanging out with SuJu in Leeteuk's room, that last kiss.
"Nothing much really. They were too tired," I finally said. "We just went out... like tourists, really."
"Well, we've done that," replied my mother, smiling. "But it was a new experience for you two. Living like superstars."
"Oh yeah," HyunJae and I said together.
We glanced at each other and burst out laughing.
Manager KiBum looked at his watch. "9pm. We'll have to leave by 7."
DongHae turned to me, looking anguished. "Can JaeHwa.... sshi and HyunJae sshi come to the airport with us?" he asked hopefully.

It's You Chapter 25
When I got back to the room, HyunJae was asleep. I took a quick shower to get the sand off and then climbed quietly into bed. I was exhausted. But it was fun. We'd both fallen asleep on the bus, and when I woke up when we were halfway back I took a picture of him sleeping. I couldn't resist. He was adorable.
I smiled, thinking about DongHae. I wondered if he was thinking about me.
I shut my eyes and immediately drifted off.
---
"Wake up, JaeHwa!" yelled HyunJae what felt like a minute later. Something soft hit me. I groaned and rolled over.
"Five more minutes..." I mumbled, covering my head with my pillow. HyunJae tore the pillow off. She gasped.
"JaeHwa, you've got freaking sand all over your bed!" she exclaimed. "You're going to make the cleaners cry."
"That's their job, nothing to cry about," I replied, rubbing my eyes. I sat up. "Okay, I'm awake now. What time is it?"
"It's 8am and time for breakfast," said HyunJae. She pulled some clothes out of my suitcase for me. "Hurry up and get dressed."
---
Everyone stared at us when we entered the dining room. "Something smells nice," said HyunJae, smiling as she EunHyuk came up to us. They glanced at each other, then looked away, smiling.
"Hey, I won't disturb you two lovebirds," I said, sitting down at the Super Junior table, next to KyuHyun and opposite DongHae.
"Morning JaeHwa sshi," said KyuHyun happily, stuffing a sausage in his mouth.
"Don't eat so fast, Kyu, you'll choke yourself," said DongHae, shaking his head.
"I haven't eaten in 12 hours, I'm hungry," replied KyuHyun. He swallowed and nudged me. "Aren't you going to eat JaeHwa?" he asked.
"Yeah, come with me and get some food, JaeHwa," said DongHae, inclining his head towards the buffet table. I got up obediently and followed him, not before catching the small smiles on everyone's faces.
"Everyone seems happy, huh?" remarked DongHae, as we both ordered an omelette. I glanced back at the table and caught them all turning around from where they had been staring at us.
I laughed. "Very happy."
"If only they knew what Hyukkie and HyunJae get up to," he said, smiling.
"Or us," I said, as the chef places the omelette on my plate.
"What's a little kiss every now and then," he said mischeviously, following me to the fruit section.
"DongHae!" I hissed, glaring at him.
"I know, I know, we're not getting up to anything today," he said. "But just so you know, last night was the best four hours I've ever had in my life. Just being with you makes me happy."
I smiled back at him. "Me too."
"Don't let me interrupt," said a voice behind me. I turned and found LeeTeuk behind me. He winked at me. "Did you think I didn't know that you two left last night?" he asked. "I was waiting for DongHae to come back, and I saw you leaving your room, JaeHwa, so don't think you can fool me."
"Hyung, we didn't do anything, I swear. We just - " DongHae started, but LeeTeuk cut him off.
"It's ok, DongHae, just don't get caught. And you two don't do anything stupid right?"
"Don't worry, we won't, JaeHwa won't let me," said DongHae, sitcking out his lower lip.
"Well, nice to know she has more common sense than you," teased LeeTeuk, helping himself to some fruits.
"Hey!" said DongHae, pouting more.
"Thanks Teukie oppa," I said, smiling.
He patted me on the shoulder. "He missed you a lot, I'm just happy that he's happy again. Thank you, JaeHwa." He headed back to the table. I looked up at DongHae.
"You didn't tell me you went all depressed over me," I said seriously.
"Well, if you were, you think I wouldn't be?" he replied, equally serious.
I was about to reply when a camera flashed somewhere to my right. I turned, and spied a security guard bringing down a photographer outside the dining room glass. I turned back to DongHae. "I forgot about the paparazzi," I said, feeling scared. "What if they caught us last night?"
"Don't worry, there weren't any flashes," said DongHae evenly. "Don't look all worried like that, I feel like giving you a hug. You're not making it easy for me, JaeHwa."
"Don't look at me then," I said jokingly.
"Can't," he replied seriously. "You're shining with brilliant light. It's impossible not to look at you." He started back towards the table. I sat down opposite him.
"Seriously, what if my face gets back on the tabloids? The Japanese fans would come after me this time, and I heard their pretty crazy too," I said, as the thought came into my head. No way could I go through that again.
"Oh shit, I forgot about that," said DongHae, staring at me.
KyuHyun turned towards me. "They won't hurt you, JaeHwa, not if I give the order not to," he said, striking a heroic pose. I laughed.
"Kyu, what the hell are you doing?" asked HanKyung, staring at him.
"If he wants to play Superman, let him play Superman, Kyungie" said HeeChul, grinning at KyuHyun.
"He looks more like a Teletubby," remarked SungMin with an innocent smile on his face.
"Kyu, cut it out, everyone's staring at you," said KangIn, swiping him lightly on the back. KyuHyun dropped his pose, looking downcast.
"Aww KyuHyun oppa, there'll still be other poses for you," I said, patting him on the back. DongHae kicked me under the table. I looked back at him. "What's wrong?" I asked, worried at his serious face. Was he jealous of Kyu...?
"I..." he started. "I won't let anyone hurt you again," he said, very quietly.
KyuHyun squeezed my hand, giving me a tentative smile. One that said "Neither will I. And he really loves you."
I stared back at DongHae.
Breakfast passed in silence.
---
"This place is beautiful..." said YeSung as we entered the Hamarikyu Garden. "Just like my voice."
"YeSung, if your head gets any bigger you won't be able to get back in the bus," said HeeChul.
"Don't fight, you two," said SiWon, but he was smiling. "This place is so peaceful, so beautiful."
"Perfect place for a martial arts movie," said SungMin, looking excited. "How about it, hyung?" he asked, tugging on Hankyung's sleeve. He looked like a kid in the candy shop.
"SungMin, you always do the same moves over and over anyway," said ShinDong.
SungMin pouted. "But if Kyungie hyung fights me, then I might pull out something else," he said.
"I won't fight you, SungMin, I wouldn't want to hurt you," said HanKyung in his soft voice.
"Aww, I love you Kyungie hyung," said SungMin, hugging HanKyung.
I looked at HyunJae, who looked positively delighted at being a first hand witness to SuJu love.
"Stop giving fan-service, SungMin," said DongHae, his arms around EunHyuk. He looked at me. "I'm really only doing this because I need a hug real bad... and unfortunately you can't give me one," he said teasingly.
I gave a mock stuck-up pose. "Wouldn't want the fan-girls to break the barriers and trample over me," I said, raising my eyebrows at him.
"Maybe I'd let them because you won't give me a hug."
"Hmph! You're definately not getting one now."
"Sopt flirting you two, you're in public," said EunHyuk, but he was smiling.
"You two are so cute," said RyeoWook. He smiled tentatively at HyunJae. "Hello, HyunJae sshi."
"Geez, Wookie, she looks big, but she's not going to eat you," said EunHyuk.
HyunJae narrowed her eyes at him. "Don't expect a hug from me either," she said, pouting.
"I'll shut up now," said EunHyuk, but his eyes sparkled at her.
"Isn't it great how much power we have over them?" I said, laughing.
"I can hear you, JaeHwa," said DongHae from behind. "And you know this is killing me."
"What, not being able to come near me?"
"No, being draped over Hyukkie, who smells like chlorine."
"Hey!"
"I guess you didn't shower after you went swimming huh?"
"..."
"When did you go swimming anyway?"
I looked at HyunJae. She caught EunHyuk's eye and turned away, smiling.
"You don't need to know," said EunHyuk, satisfied.
"Come on...."
"You didn't tell me where you went, so we're even."
"You suck, Lee HyukJae."
"I love you Lee DongHae."
"Stop with the fan-service already."
"You know you like it."
"Do they ever shut up?" SungMin asked LeeTeuk.
"You tell me, you're the same age as them," replied LeeTeuk, with a smile and a shake of his head.
I laughed and followed HyunJae to the pavillion overlooking the lake.
---
"Swimming!" yelled HeeChul as soon as we reached the hotel.
"I'm going to rest in my room," said KiBum, their manager. "Looking after you people is like looking after pets."
"And very cute pets we are," said KangIn with a smile. KiBum entered his room and closed the door.
"Hurry up and grab your stuff guys," ordered LeeTeuk. "I want everyone down there, and I mean everyone, including you, DongHae, JaeHwa, EunHyuk, HyunJae. I'm not leaving you alone even for a minute."
"Aww, Teukie hyung," protested EunHyuk, but HyunJae wrapped her arms around his waist.
"Don't worry, swimming sounds fun," she said, smiling.
"Oh, fine."
"Thank God you're here, HyunJae, or he'll never do anything," said LeeTeuk gratefully.
"Yes I will!"
"Shut up and get your stuff."
"See you guys in 5."
"Make sure you're there, okay DongHae?"
"SiWon, bring the beachball!"
"HeeChul hyung, don't forget the lilo!"
"The what?"
"The floating chair thingie!"
"Oh right, since when was it called a lilo?"
"Just bring it, okay?"
I entered our room and closed the door.
"Grateful you don't wear a bikini?" asked HyunJae, smiling.
"Very," I said, grabbing my swimsuit and a pair of board shorts. I stepped into the bathroom to change, then slipped an oversized t-shirt over myself.
"Ready?" asked HyunJae. We stepped back out and closed the door.
---
"Look out! Canonball!" yelled KangIn as he took a running jump into the pool. HyunJae and I were splashed as we entered the area. I got towels for us while she peeled off her wet t-shirt and dived into the pool. I stood by for a while until DongHae climbed out and ran over to me. He was shirtless.
I couldn't stop myself from smiling when I saw him.
"Coming in?" he asked when he came up to me.
"Okay, you go in first," I said, feeling a bit shy at thought of pulling of my t-shirt in front of him.
"No, it's okay, I'll wait," he said, not getting what I was hinting at.
I sighed, turned around, and pulled my t-shirt over my head. "If you think the shorts are coming off too, you're dead wrong," I said, smirking. He pulled me to the pools' edge.
"Doesn't matter, you're beautiful either way." As we both jumped in and sank to the bottom, he pulled me to him and gave me a quick kiss. I gasped and a whole lot of water flowed into my mouth. I kicked myself up to the surface, coughing. He stood in the water and carried me in both arms.
"I'm never opening my mouth underwater again," I said, still coughing. He laughed.
"You know that SungMin gave oxygen to EunHyuk on Exploration of the Human Body before, right?"
"Mouth to mouth?"
"Yeah."
"That's slightly disturbing."
He laughed. "I knew you would say that."
Our fingers linked underwater.

It's You Chapter 24
DongHae adjusted his position, leaning against the arm of the swing so that I was practically on top of him. I felt a teeny bit uncomfortable, so I pulled away from him and leaned against him, listening to his heartbeat. He wrapped his arms around me and we stayed like that in silence for a while.
"Tell me about your life this past year," he said, looking down at me.
So I did.
We sat like that for about half an hour, me just talking about school, settling into life as a student in Japan, speaking in Japanese, that sort of stuff. I felt like I was on a high, I couldn't seem to stop talking. It was really fun. When I'd finished, I asked him about his year.
"That might take too long," he replied, smiling down at me. I smiled back up at him and reached up to touch his face. "Maybe if I leave out the insignificant parts and just tell the really important ones..." he said.
"Please," I said, pulling a puppy-eye face, still smiling at him.
"You're so adorable when you do that, you know?" he replied, running a hand through my hair. "Oh alright, I'll tell some parts."
He told me about the new album, about promoting it, about the new subgroups, and that he was in Super Junior M, about learning Chinese and meeting Henry and Zhou Mi, and then about Super Show. Not terribly detailed, but he was honest about it. He didn't really like the idea of the subgroups because he felt like they were splitting Super Junior up, but after a while he got used to it.
When he finished he looked at me. "And now we're here. You have no idea how much I missed you, JaeHwa."
"Mmmm," I answered, looking away. I felt really guilty because I'd kind of gotten over him. He pulled up my face so I was facing him.
"It's ok if you didn't, you know, I totally understand that," he said gently.
"Well, to be honest, I kinda got over you," I said softly. I looked him in the eye. "But I don't think I entirely let go. I mean, I did stay away from all Super Junior-related things, and I -"
He laid a finger on my lips. "You don't have to explain," he said, smiling. "If you were completely over me, you wouldn't be here right now."
I smiled. "Smarty pants."
He suddenly stood up. "Let's go somewhere. I wanna go somewhere with you."
"What?!"
He looked at his watch. "It's only past 9! Come on, JaeHwa," he pleaded, pulling me to my feet.
"Where do you want to go?" I asked. "People would recognise you!"
"I wanna go to the beach," he said, pouting.
"But... the closest beach is about an hour away," I protested feebly. Honestly, the idea of sneaking out to the beach in the middle of the night was a nice one. The feeling of being a rebel for once had instant appeal.
"That's alright, we can spend an hour there and be back by midnight," said DongHae excitedly. His mood was infectious. I started smiling. "See, you like it!" he exclaimed, pulling me back to the glass doors. I let him.
As we passed the numerous deck chairs, something caught my eye.
"DongHae, wait," I said softly. He turned to me and I put a finger to my mouth. I crept back to a suspicious looking chair that was turned around so it's back was to us. There was something moving on it...
"Aaaaah!" I yelled in shock as I looked over the top of the chair. I jumped backwards, covering my eyes.
"What the hell, you two!" yelled DongHae, pulling me to my feet.
EunHyuk and HyunJae looked innocently back at us. They had jumped apart when I yelled, but etched permanently in my mind was the image of them making out on the very same chair. Furiously. And right now, he was still on top of her.
"It's not like you haven't made out with JaeHwa, DongHae," said EunHyuk a matter-of-factly. I felt my face turn a bit hot. DongHae glared at EunHyuk.
"Shut up Hyukkie," he said. "Anyway, even if we have, we didn't do it in public!"
"Just, you know, made out in front of the whole city," replied EunHyuk with an evil grin, waving his arm in the direction we had just come from. I turned even hotter.
"Not like the city could see us," said DongHae with a faint blush on his cheeks.
I beckoned to HyunJae and we moved off to the side while the both of them had a little argument.
"Hyunnie, what are you doing?!" I whispered. A sudden thought struck me. "Were you spying on us?" I demanded.
She gave me a slight grin. "We had to see what you guys were going to do," she said happily. "I'm so happy you're back together!"
"I think you're just feeling the after effects of kissing EunHyuk," I said, with a -.- expression.
"Well, sorry, but it just happened, okay?" said HyunJae with a slight blush.
"Oh yeah?"
"Yeah." She could see I was looking a bit skeptical, but wouldn't you? I mean, she was never really with EunHyuk before this... I was just afraid that he was using her. "Okay, I'll tell you. After you left I went to get EunHyuk and we followed you down to the pool."
"Weren't you in the shower?"
"No, I was just randomly splashing water around. Do you want to hear this or what?"
"Okay, okay, I'll shut up."
"Yeah, anyway, we followed you and we saw DongHae at the edge, and we sorta stayed behind those glass doors. Looks like a bit of drama happened huh? You looked really pissed. Were you yelling at him?"
"I didn't mean to," I mumbled.
"Meh, not like I haven't yelled at Hyukkie before. When he dragged you behind that building, the both of us ran forward and hid in the bushes on the other side. You obviously didn't notice us. Yeah, we saw him pinning you to the wall," she raised her eyebrows at me, smiling. "Then Hyukkie said we should just leave you alone. So we scampered back, but when we were nearly back at the glass doors, he tripped and fell on me."
"Ouch," I said. I knew how that felt.
"Yeah, it was pretty painful." Her voice dropped to a whisper. "Then he said 'Myabe I should do a DongHae, huh?' and uhh he pinned me to the floor."
"Spare me the details," I said, feeling uncomfortable. "How did you end up on the chair?"
"I dunno, he started kissing me on the ground and then we kinda umm..."
"..upgraded to the chair?"
She burst out laughing. "Yeah, it was way more comfortable, not that I really cared though."
"JaeHwa, let's go!" said DongHae. I made my way back to him.
"Where are you guys going?" asked EunHyuk, narrowing his eyes at us, smiling playfully.
"Somewhere," said DongHae, with an equally playful smile. "See you guys later," he said, and then pulled me through the glass doors.
---
"We've got the whole bus to ourselves," remarked DongHae, his arm around me. I snuggled closer.
"There is still the bus driver though," I said, as he pulled my face up.
"He's too busy with the road," he whispered, before kissing me softly on the lips.
I wished that I could be alone with him in a bus forever.
---
"Here we are, Shonan beach!" I exclaimed, twirling around. I was a still a little breathless from the bus. DongHae came up behind me, wrapping his arms around my neck. He buried his face in my neck.
"Wasn't that bus ride fun?" he murmured, squeezing my arm.
I blushed.
"I can feel your heartbeat," he remarked.
So could I. His heart was almost directly above mine, if not a bit higher. He unwrapped himself and pulled his beanie over his head, then tugged me towards the low barrier between the pavement and the beach. We sat down and listened to the waves.
I took off my shoes and sunk my feet into the sand. Next to me, DongHae was doing the same.
"That feels nice," he said as he played with the sand with his toes. "Want to make a sandcastle?"
"I can barely see the waves, I don't think we'd be able to make one," I said. He jumped off the barrier and picked up a stick that was lying nearby. He started writing something in the sand. "What're you doing?" I asked.
He pulled out his phone and took a picture of his artwork. Then he swept his foot over it so none of it remained. He sent the picture to me on my phone. I took my phone out of my pocket and looked at it.

DongHae Loves JaeHwa.
I looked down at him and discovered his face was inches from mine. His hands were on either side of mine, gripping on to the barrier. He gave me a small smile.
"Wo Ai Ni," he whispered.
"What does that mean?" I asked softly.
"SarangHae," he replied. "In Chinese."
"Aishiteru," I said, smiling at him. His eyes sparkled.
"Japanese?" he asked, coming closer.
I nodded and closed my eyes as he pulled my head down softly and his lips touched mine. I wrapped my arms around his neck, and jumped off the wall, while he caught me in an awkward position. We stayed in that pose for a few seconds before we both fell onto the sand.
I laughed and he did too. We both stared up at the stars. His hand touched mine and we looked at each other, grinning. I intertwined my fingers with his, feeling like my heart was about to burst.
We lay there in silence. After a long while, he rolled onto his side, switching hands and propping himself up. He looked at me with a quizzical look on his face.
"What are you looking at?" I said, raising an eyebrow.
"You're beautiful," he answered, playing with my fingers.
"You're just love-bitten, Lee DongHae," I replied, blushing a little.
He rolled over, resting himself on his elbows. He looked at me and smiled. "You look even prettier when you blush," he said, and his smile grew wider.
I covered my face with my hands. "This is so embarassing," I said, my voice muffled.
He pulled my hands away gently and wove his fingers through my hair. "If you're embarassed with me, I wonder how you feel when you blush in front of other people," he teased. I hit him lightly on the shoulder. He stuck out his lower lip.
"Now you have to give me a kiss for hurting me," he said, a mischevious look on his face.
"I didn't hurt you!" I exclaimed.
"No... but I'm always the one kissing you. Your turn, for a change."
"You only started kissing me today."
"You forgot last year?"
"Okay, fine." I reached up and touched his face, wound my hands through his hair, felt his pulse racing when I ran my hand over his neck. "You seem nervous," I whispered.
"My first kiss from you," he whispered back. "Of course I'm nervous."
"Idiot," I said, then pushed myself up and kissed him. I was about to pull away when he pulled me into him, his arms around me.
"You're not bad for a first-timer," he said, kissing me on the neck.
"I don't understand you sometimes, Lee DongHae," I said, laughing. I felt his fingers brush against the bare skin of my back. My top must have ridden up, but I didn't care because I trusted him.
I trusted him with my life.
"Tell me about your life this past year," he said, looking down at me.
So I did.

It's You Chapter 23
"Dramatic much, Teukie hyung?" remarked HeeChul, who was hanging around the corridor with KangIn. "Hello, JaeHwa!" He smiled, then glanced at HyunJae. "Umm, sorry about that just now..." he apologized. "It was the... shock."
"Hello HeeChul oppa," I said, giving him a small hug. To be totally honest, I found HeeChul a bit scary and weird sometimes, but oh well, who cared. KangIn hugged me too.
"We'll be going back out soon, so don't get too comfortable," he warned me, as LeeTeuk pulled me down the corridor. Even though I'd already seen them, we still knocked on every Super Junior door (because they took up almost the entire corridor) so I could get my hugs. There was one room he pulled me straight past, and I had a feeling that it was DongHae's.
"Don't want to go there, it'll be awkward," he said, reading my thoughts. "KiBum isn't here, so there's actually an equal number of people in a room, for once."
"Who are you rooming with, oppa?" I asked.
"DongHae," he replied with a slight smile. "So there really isn't any need to go into that room, since I'm with you."
"Hmm, yeah, I guess."
LeeTeuk gave me a card to the room next to his. "This is where you're staying, with HyunJae sshi," he said. "It's just pure coincidence you're next to DongHae, I hope you don't mind?"
"Oh, no, it's no problem, really," I said, taking the card. "Can I tell you something, LeeTeuk oppa?"
"Of course! You can tell me anything."
"The only reason I'm really here is to... be with DongHae," I said, toying with the card in my hands.
"Aah," replied LeeTeuk, pressing his lips together. "Well Jae-"
"But," I added, and he stopped talking. "I'm glad I'm came, even if nothing might happen between DongHae and me. Because I got to spend time with you guys again, and that's maybe more important. I missed you guys alot."
LeeTeuk smiled slightly. "We missed you too, JaeHwa. And we'll try and make something work with DongHae. Don't worry about it."
"Umm, I don't think that's necessary, really."
He laughed. "We'll see what happens, huh?"
"LeeTeuk oppa, please don't do anything to him," I said, feeling like I shouldn't have said anything to us. He ruffled my hair.
"I did say don't worry right?" he said, then opened the door of his room. "See you in an hour, JaeHwa. Get some rest, alright? You look like you need it." The door closed. I slid the card into the door and opened it. Inside was breathtakingly beautiful. Modern, clean lines. Just the sort of style I liked. I flopped down on one of the beds, savoring the air-conditioning.
The door opened. "Wow," said HyunJae, standing in the doorway. "I could get used to traveling with Super Junior."
"You're not even traveling with them, it just so happens you're in the same country as them," I replied, not bothering to open my eyes. "But I really like this, I don't have to feel guilty about using air-conditioning because I'm not paying for it!"
"And you wouldn't personally be polluting the air?" added HyunJae, curling up on the other bed.
"That too. Because we all know that hotel air-conditioning can't be switched off." We both laughed, then lapsed into silence, thinking. Well, I was thinking. I don't know about HyunJae, she had no worries in the world anymore. EunHyuk had gotten rid of all her problems in a matter of seconds. I felt happy for her, but I still had my own problems to take care of.
"Hey, JaeHwa?"
"Hmm?"
"You know, when you kissed DongHae, did it feel like there was no one in the room but you and him?"
"Well, there WAS no one in the room but me and him," I replied.
Flashback:
And then.
And then.
And then my left arm was pulled back and I was whirled around with force and I was face to face with DongHae.
"Not until I do this," he said, and then he quickly kissed me on the lips. I didn't even have time to close my eyes or react in any way, just felt his lips rest softly on mine for a second, and then they were gone.
"And it was a totally different situation," I added softly. I still remembered the shock, the bewilderment, and then the ensuing happiness. What had happened to us?
"Yea," sighed HyunJae. "Sorry I asked."
"No, you had a perfect right to." I stared at the ceiling, reminiscing. DongHae was closer to me than he had been in a year, yet we had never been further apart. Was this all a mistake?
No, said a voice in my head. You're spending the day with all the guys that you love the best, you've made lots of mistakes in your life, and this is definitely NOT one. I smiled a little at that thought.
"JaeHwa, do you mind if I go out to meet EunHyuk at the swimming pool?" asked HyunJae tentatively.
"Why are you asking me?" I asked, smiling. "I don't own your life, you're allowed to do what you want."
"Just wondered if it make you feel bad."
"What kind of person do you think I am, HyunJae? Go...! I'm gonna take a nap, I'm exhausted."
"Haha. Considering you just had one..."
"Go away."
She got up and opened the door. "Call me if you need anything, right?"
I rolled my eyes. "Sure, I'll call you from my dreams."
She laughed and left.
I was alone. In a room right next to DongHae. I jumped lightly off the bed and pressed my ear against the wall. Silence. Maybe LeeTeuk had gone back out...?
"You know you miss her, DongHae."
That was definitely not LeeTeuk. It was... SiWon?
"And she missed you too." That was SungMin.
"And you HAVE to stop denying it." That was YeSung.
How many guys were in that room?!
Then I remembered the first time I'd eavesdropped on them. They were telling DongHae off for being with me. Now they were trying to get him with me? Ironic. I nearly burst out laughing right there and then. I was becoming very good at pressing my ear to walls/doors.
"Stop bugging him, hyung." THAT was KyuHyun. I nearly died on the spot. If I heard one more voice and it wasn't DongHae, I'd have to start calculating how big their room was. "He really doesn't need this right now."
"Thank you, KyuHyun." FINALLY. It was DongHae. But he was so quiet. So unlike him.
"Well, not really, because I'm going to be straight to the point and say that you still like her. So what are you waiting for?"
I smacked my head in frustration. KyuHyun was SO tactless sometimes.
"Whose side are you on?" said DongHae, and I could almost imagine his -.-" expression.
"My own," replied KyuHyun. There was a slight thump right next to my ear, and a squeal. Then I heard panting. It was right across me. Was someone being pinned against the wall? Someone started making high-pitched noises.
"Whose side are you on now?" demanded DongHae. KyuHyun was laughing.
"Sopt tickling him, hyung, he'll die soon, I mean look at his face," said SiWon.
"No, wait, I've to get a picture of his face!" said SungMin.
"Here, use my phone," said YeSung.
"Nooo....!" protested KyuHyun feebly.
I pulled away from the wall. Seriously, could they take anything seriously without clowning around for a moment? But at least DongHae sounded normal. Was he acting before? Or was he acting now? It was so hard to tell through a wall. I heard a low buzz of voices and pressed my ear back to the wall.
"... okay, let's go! KiBum hyung's asleep, and no-one will know it's us!" SungMin sounded excited.
"Seriously you two, do you have nothing better to do?" asked YeSung.
"Come on YeSung hyung, you know you want to relive your childhood," said DongHae, and I could hear the smile in his voice. I smiled too. "If you had a childhood, at least."
"Have you not seen my baby pictures flying around the internet?" demanded YeSung.
"Yeah, but you might have been a 23 year old stuck in a toddler's body," said SiWon innocently. The others laughed.
"Well, sorry if I'm too mature for you people. Come on KyuHyun, let's leave the babies to their fun."
"Aww KyuHyun, don't go. I'll tickle you again."
"Umm, well, YeSung hyung is kinda right..."
"WHAT?!"
"Hyaaaa!"
"No, no...! Get off me, DongHae hyung! SungMin hyung, give me back my shoe! YeSung hyung, help!"
"I think I'll pass, KyuHyun."
"Even after I backed you up?!"
"Yeah, changed my mind, I'd rather be immature again."
"Haishh!! Aaaaargh!"
Racous laughter emitted from the room. So much for a mature conversation. After all that had happened, they were still as lovable as ever. Sigh. I knew that if I ever wanted to let them go, I wouldn't be able to.
I pulled myself away from the wall and left them to it.
---
"Alright guys, don't get lost and try not to attract too much attention," instructed KiBum, Super Juniors' manager. "See you all back here at 8, no later. And EunHyuk and ShinDong, try not to eat nothing but junk food."
"Aww KiBum hyung, that's what Japan's famous for!" argued EunHyuk.
"No, you'll get pimples. Do you want to ruin your complexion? No junk food and that's final. See you at 8."
"You make me sound like someone who cares about my looks," muttered EunHyuk. "We all get pimples every now and then."
"Aww, EunHyuk oppa, don't worry about him, you can always eat my junk food for me," said HyunJae with a devilish smile. "After all, it wouldn't be yours personally."
EunHyuk smiled. "What would I do without you, HyunJae."
"You were without her for a year, you know," said HanKyung, raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah, well, shut up HanKyung hyung."
HanKyung looked at him quizzically. "Sorry, I'm a foreigner, I don't understand what you just said."
I laughed along with the others. HanKyung was always using that excuse. And they never had a comeback for it, no matter how many times he had used it.
"Let's go ice-skating!" said SungMin, waving his arms around excitedly.
"SungMin, it's the middle of summer," said KangIn with a -.-" expression on his face. "And in case you haven't noticed, you're wearing a t-shirt, pirate pants and slippers. I don't think they'd let you in."
"There aren't any, anyway," I said. They all turned to look at me. "Not now, anyway."
"Okay JaeHwa, it's your city now, why don't you take us around?" suggested HeeChul cheerfully, but I cringed slightly at the thought of Tokyo being 'my city.'
SiWon noticed my cringe. "He doesn't mean that you're not part of Korea anymore, but you know... you've lived here for a while."
"Yeah, I know," I said. "But it still hasn't sunk in that I'm really living here."
"Well... where do you think we should go?" asked RyeoWook in a small voice, breaking the silence.
I smiled. "Do you guys feel like seeing some weird fashion?" I asked. "It's pretty weird, but I think you'll like it. And we can take pictures."
I was met with a chorus of "Oooh", "Hmmm", and "Let's go!"
"Are there any good restaurants?" asked ShinDong.
"Is that all you care about?!" exclaimed HeeChul, wide eyed.
"Don't worry ShinDong oppa, there are some pretty good roadside stalls. And I know a really good okonomiyaki shop."
"Okay, let's go!" said LeeTeuk, being the leader as usual, making the decisions for them.
We caught the shinkansen to Harajuku.
---
"Good night everyone. And I mean it, go to sleep." LeeTeuk entered his room and closed the door. DongHae hadn't been with him. Not before, not after. Where was he? Ah, never mind, not like he wasn't allowed to be somewhere around the hotel. I went into my room and pulled out my pajamas. HyunJae was in the shower.
"Hey, HyunJae," I called out, knocking on the door.
"Yeah?" She yelled back over the sound of falling water.
"I'm going for a walk, don't wait up for me."
"Alright, don't get lost."
I took the lift downstairs and made my way to the outdoor swimming pool. It was 9pm and dark. But I liked it. A cool breeze blew through my hair, and I didn't feel so warm anymore. This was my favourite part of the day. When we first arrived I used to sit up at the window and let the wind blow into my room, cooling it down after a hot day. I'd also drop everything from my mind, just letting the wind blow it away.
But I couldn't let it blow away tonight.
There was someone sitting on the ground, back to me, facing the city. The swimming pool was on the 5th floor, and the barrier was quite low and made of glass, so the city lights were visible. It was really pretty. And it definitely wasn't a place to bring children. I stood away from the "barrier" because I had a fear of falling off balconies and buildings. I mean, I was such a klutz, anything could happen.
My hair was blowing over my face because the wind was coming from behind me, but I let it. As long as I could just watch the lights, nothing else mattered.
Until, at least, I sneaked a peek at the figure in front of me.
I could see that he was quite good-looking, even though his fringe and hair were blowing into his face like mine. I smiled to myself, then turned back to the lights. Then I did a double take.
It was DongHae.
He was sitting with his knees up to his chest, head resting on his knees. He looked so vulnerable and lonely that I felt like going up to him and giving him a hug. But I knew that I'd never do that. Not ever.
He must have felt my presence there at that moment, or maybe he felt my eyes boring into the side of his face, because he turned to look at me, and his mouth dropped open a little in shock. He staggered to his feet, pulling himself up by the barrier. He looked like he was going to fall over the stupid so-called barrier, and I nearly screamed out in terror. But he stood there, looking at me, and I looked back.
An eternity passed.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to disturb you," I said, then bowed lightly before taking a step backward and turning around.
"...JaeHwa, wait," said DongHae, and I felt him catch hold of my elbow. I turned to face him, shocked, and was aware that my face was a teeny bit closer to his than before.
"Do you remember the last time you caught hold of me like this?" I suddenly asked him, prising his fingers free. "You kissed me after that. You kissed me when you knew that I was leaving. When you knew you were going to break it off after that." I stepped backward so that there was some breathing space between us.
"I know," said DongHae. He reached out and managed to grab hold of my hand as I was turning to run.
"Let go of me, DongHae!" I said, tears stinging my eyes. I tried to shake myself free, but he was too strong. "You've let go of me once, you can do it again! In fact, you're still disconnected from me, and that's what you wanted."
"Listen to me JaeHwa!" said DongHae, holding my arms so I couldn't struggle. He looked around, then pulled me to the side of the building, hidden in shrubbery. He pinned me against the wall. I stared at him defiantly. Why was I acting like this? I still wanted him, so why was I acting like I didn't? What's wong with you, stupid?! My heart yelled at my brain.
"Why are you doing this, DongHae?" I asked pathetically.
"Because I love you, JaeHwa. I loved you from the moment I met you, when I gave you that concussion. When you came to visit KyuHyun on the night of the accident. When you went into the hospital because of me. When you said you were leaving." His breath was ragged. He was shaking a little, and he dropped his head.
"But you still said goodbye," I whispered, trying to make sense of it all. I hadn't expected a confession. But then again, what was I expecting?
"I thought it make it hurt a little less. I thought it might be easier for you to forget me, for me to forget you." He raised his head and stared into my eyes. "But you know what? I've never stopped loving you. And when EunHyuk did what he did in the Nippon Budokan, I knew that I had to do something. I'm the outgoing one, but he still did that. And I admire him for that."
"Is that why you have me pinned to a wall, surrounded with trees and flowers and nothing but a low glass barrier separating you and me from falling to our deaths to the city below?" I asked. I was shaking too, but I was genuinely scared. Because I knew that if he slipped, he would fall and nothing would save him.
"Are you scared?" whispered DongHae. I nodded. He enveloped me in his arms, and clung to me tightly. I closed my eyes, my head resting on his shoulder. "You have no idea how much I wanted to do this when I saw you in the Nippon Budokan," he murmured in my ear.
There was a swinging seat near us. He pulled me there and sat me down. "You're treating me like a child," I said, pouting. He sat down next to me and touched my face. I stopped pouting.
"Give me a chance, I've only got tonight and tomorrow with you," he said, pushing back a strand of stray hair from my face. I felt my heart melting.
"Yea, and then it's goodbye again," I said, looking away.
He gently pulled my face around to face him. "But we're talking about now, when tomorrow comes, it comes."
I stayed silent.
"Meanwhile, all I want to do now is this," he said, his hand at the back of my neck. My heart started beating like crazy. When was the last time it had beaten like this? Was it really a year ago? I moved my head a little closer to his. He smiled slightly. We were so close now. I closed my eyes, and before I knew it, I felt his lips on mine. They were soft, undemanding, like a butterfly resting.
I had one hand behind his head, and another on his back. He had both arms wrapped around my waist. I was smiling at the same time, this was the best moment in my entire life. He was really gentle, nothing too aggressive or forceful, and I felt like I was floating on a cloud. I also felt like my insides were melting.
Was it possible to float and melt at the same time?
"What is this strange hold you have on me, Lee JaeHwa," he murmured, lips still pressed against mine.
"You know you love me Lee DongHae," I replied, smiling.
"Yeah," he said. "I do."
"Hello HeeChul oppa," I said, giving him a small hug. To be totally honest, I found HeeChul a bit scary and weird sometimes, but oh well, who cared. KangIn hugged me too.

"I do."

It's You Chapter 22
The door opened. HyunJae and I turned around from our place on the couch to face him. YunHo stuck his head in. "Ready? They're coming now. They've managed to disengage themselves from their ever-so-adoring fans, haha." His head disappeared. "Okay, guys. There's someone waiting for you inside." I heard him say.
"Ooh, is it a surprise?" I heard RyeoWook say. Even after a year I still recognized his voice. I would have smiled if I wasn't so nervous.
"Wait, is it SooMan hyung?" YeSung asked.
"You wish, JongWoon," I heard someone say. It sounded like EunHyuk, but it might have been SiWon. It was hard to distinguish through the wall. "We all know you'd love to spend some quality time with him." Okay, definitely EunHyuk.
"Shut up, HyukJae," said YeSung, calling EunHyuk by his real name. "As if you don't spend enough time with JunSu... I wonder what you two get up to." Of course he meant Kim JunSu, from DBSK, or better known as Xiah here in Japan. EunHyuk laughed.
"Hey, Hyukkie's mine, so no talking about our pretty little JunSu in front of me," said DongHae. The others laughed but I felt myself stiffen at the sound of his voice so close.
"Maybe this was a bad idea," I said to HyunJae.
"Too late now, isn't it? Back out now and you would've wasted 5 hours of my precious vacation time," she declared. "And I will NOT forgive you for that." I laughed.
"Okay okay, not that there's any way to escape from this room."
"Unless you want to run over them, which would be pretty hard."
While we were laughing, the door opened.
I didn't even hear it.
"Hey, it's not SooMan hyung!" said a voice behind me. I stopped laughing. HyunJae stopped too. We looked at each guiltily. We were completely frozen.
"Unless SooMan hyung grew his hair long and morphed into two girls," said DongHae, laughing. "Hello, you two. You're in our dressing room, if you haven't noticed."
"Actually, they're here on my, uhh, orders," interjected YunHo quickly. "They'll be spending today, tonight and tomorrow with you guys. An unknown competition, but don't worry, it's completely legal."
"Cool!" said SungMin.
"Surprised?" asked YunHo.
HyunJae and I still had our backs to them, breathing hard, watching each other through identical wide eyes. I could see the fear written on my face through her pupils.
"Very," said a new voice. KyuHyun. Oh God, KyuHyun. I'd missed him so much... and I'd promised to keep in touch with him. I felt really bad now. I wanted to get out of here.
"Why don't you turn around so we can see your faces?" suggested SungMin.
A hand - maybe SiWon's or HanKyung's - landed on HyunJae's shoulder and she whirled around in shock, her ponytail hitting me in the face. It took all of my willpower not to laugh or yell at her. Silence settled over us as they stared at HyunJae's face. I glanced at her face. She looked like she'd been caught stealing something. This time I couldn't hold it in.
I burst out laughing, then bent over and put my head on my knees, racked with silent laughter. I was shaking. My hands were over my face, but no one could see it anyway, with my hair hanging all over the place.
The guys gave awkward chuckles, but I could tell that they were still staring at HyunJae. They'd really only seen her once, they probably found her familiar yet unfamiliar. Except, of course, DongHae, EunHyuk and SiWon. Out of the corner of my eye I saw HyunJae turn back around, her face red. I lifted my head, but was still bent over, my side aching.
EunHyuk jumped over the couch and slid down on the ground, so he was in front of HyunJae. DongHae and SiWon seemed frozen, staying behind the couch with the others, who were clearly wondering what the heck was going on.
"HyunJae...?" whispered EunHyuk, his face close to hers. She looked away. He grabbed her hands and made her face him. "Is that really you?" She held his gaze then slowly nodded. She seemed speechless. "What the heck are you doing here?" he said quietly. I knew that I was the only one who could hear him.
HyunJae smiled faintly. "Well, I'm not stalking you, if that's what you think. It was just... a coincidence."
"Well, fate seems to be on our side," he said softly. "You have no idea how much I've missed you." HyunJae seemed dumbfounded. Suddenly EunHyuk leaned forward and kissed her quickly on the lips. I gasped, and so did several of the others. I couldn't help it.
"EunHyuk!" exclaimed LeeTeuk, looking around for anyone who might see. Luckily for them, YunHo had left on some hidden agenda of his own.
But HyunJae was smiling. "What an un-romantic time to give me a kiss, Lee HyukJae," she said.
"Sorry, but I can't hold it in anymore. You're here, I'm here, it's perfect to me."
"What the heck are you two doing?!" yelled HeeChul. "Sorry, but who the heck are you?!" he said, staring at HyunJae with a crazed look on his face. It was kinda scary seeing HeeChul like that in person (I'd seen him act like that on Super Junior Full House) but it was funny as well. Only I didn't feel like laughing.
"HyunJae, what are you doing?!" I exclaimed. I didn't mean to, but I was so extremely surprised that I couldn't keep it in. "You're in public!" Out of the corner of my eye, I saw KyuHyun, DongHae and SungMin start at the sound of my voice. A hand landed on my shoulder.
At the same time, the door opened again.
I turned around and found myself staring into KyuHyun's shocked face. Everyone gasped and moved a bit closer to us, trying to catch a glimpse of my face.
"JaeH-!" started SungMin, but SiWon quickly clapped a hand over his mouth as YunHo entered the room. They were all staring at me, and even HeeChul stopped yelling at EunHyuk to turn his alread bulging eyes at me. They looked in danger of falling out.
"Alright guys, you're allowed to leave now!"announced YunHo cheerfully, oblivious to the tense silence. "The crowds have scattered and your manager's waiting for you. JaeHwa sshi and HyunJae sshi, you'll be riding with KyuHyun sshi, SungMin sshi and EunHyuk sshi. Is that fine with you?"
"Of course! We don't mind riding with anyone, really," I replied steadily. We started filing out slowly. SungMin and KyuHyun sandwiched me, KyuHyun glancing at me every now and then as if not believing that I was really there and SungMin squeezing my arm every now and then. I started smiling.
Until we passed DongHae.
My smile fell a bit when I caught sight of him.
Our eyes met for a second, then I glanced away.
I knew that he was still staring after me though.
---
SungMin wouldn't let go of me in the car. "I can't believe you're here, HwaHwa, I've missed you sooo much!" he said, clinging tightly to me.
"Let go, SungMin, you're going to suffocate the poor girl," said KyuHyun, laughing. I couldn't stop smiling. And when I caught sight of KyuHyun staring at me, I gave him a quick hug and a peck on the cheek, just a friendly one.
"I'm so sorry I didn't stay in touch with you," I said, looking away. "It's just that..."
"That's alright JaeHwa, I totally understand," he told me, patting my head. "And by the way, you're perfectly entitled to call us 'oppa' when we're not with strangers. Understand?"
I nodded. "Okay... KyuHyun oppa."
He laughed at that.
"How come KyuHyun gets a kiss and I don't?" complained SungMin, pouting. He was just so adorable...! Something identical to love swelled inside my chest as I laughed. I really loved these guys, I had been so stupid to leave them in silence.
"Aww, I'm so sorry SungMin oppa! Here, I'll give you one now," I said, kissing him on the cheek. He smiled and blushed a little.
"What are you people doing behind there huh?" asked EunHyuk as he was driving. HyunJae was sitting up front with him, and every now and then he squeezed her hand.
"Don't worry about us, we won't disturb your privacy," said KyuHyun teasingly.
"JaeHwa, what are you doing with them huh?" asked HyunJae, turning her head around to face me. I could see that she was a little red, but she looked so ecstatic that I felt happy for her.
"I give them a peck on the cheek and I get hit for it? Hello, EunHyuk's the one who should be getting the most hits," I told her, winking to show that I didn't mean it. "I mean, I'd kiss you EunHyuk, but HyunJae might get jealous and cameras are everywhere."
"I totally understand," said EunHyuk, smiling and glancing at HyunJae. She looked down and toyed with her shirt, but I could see her blushing and smiling.
"You guys are so adorable," remarked KyuHyun. "But she doesn't know what you get up to with DongHae hyung...?" He leaned forward and rested his head on HyunJae's seat, looking at EunHyuk innocently.
EunHyuk turned to KyuHyun, giving him a shut-up-if-you-know-what's-good-for-you-glare and mouthing "Do you wanna die?"
KyuHyun sank back, smiling. He winked at me.
"Take a picture with me!" I said, pulling my camera out of my sling bag. SungMin looked extremely pleased. He loved taking pictures of himself. Well, I couldn't blame him, if I looked as cute as him I would love taking pictures of myself too.
We spent the rest of the car ride back to the hotel taking funny pictures of each other. We even managed to get one of EunHyuk with his sunglasses on while driving, looking like a secret agent. It was fun.
"Here we are...!" announced EunHyuk as we drove up to the ANA InterContinental Tokyo.
"Wow, pretty high class aren't you guys?" I remarked. 'This is like one of the best hotels in Tokyo."
"We don't choose the place," replied SungMin. "The place chooses us. Well, our manager chooses it as well, but yeah." He added after a slight pause. "We just stay here, no fuss, not that any fuss is needed anyway," he concluded cheerfully.
"I totally agree with you on the no-fuss policy," said HyunJae. EunHyuk stopped the car and some attendants opened the door for us. KyuHyun eased his long legs out of the car and helped me out (though I really didn't need it). All of us entered the foyer, where the rest of the group were waiting except for HeeChul and EunHyuk, who were parking the car. Their manager wasn't there either.
"Damn, I hate being out here in public, I can't even give you a hug," said LeeTeuk, sticking out his bottom lip.
"Never mind Teukie hyung, we'll be upstairs soon, then you can hug her all you want," said KangIn, snickering. He cast a look at DongHae. "If DongHae lets you, that is."
Well, he obviously had no idea about what had happened. Sometimes KangIn could be really... oblivious to the world. Sigh. I saw SiWon hit himself on the forehead and YeSung scratching his head while shaking it. RyeoWook hung his head, looking at his feet.
"Don't worry Teukie hyung, you really don't need my permission," said DongHae quietly. I looked up and saw that he was right in front of me. His gaze was boring into mine. "JaeHwa sshi doesn't need permission from me. Not anymore anyway." Then he turned and walked to the lift with their manager and HeeChul, who'd just got back from parking the car.
A silence descended over us again. I stared after DongHae. I didn't know whether to feel angry or not. Why did he keep denying that he still liked me?
We started making our way after them. There were too many of us, so HyunJae, YeSung, EunHyuk, LeeTeuk and I were left to take the only remaining lift.
A hand rested on my shoulder. "Don't worry, he's just feeling overwhelmed right now." I turned and found EunHyuk and YeSung behind me. It was EunHyuk who had spoken and YeSung who had his hand on my shoulder.
"Yeah, I mean, you really gave us a surprise back there, you know?" explained YeSung. "And it was pretty awkward, especially with this dude doing what he did." He raised an eyebrow at EunHyuk, who grinned back sheepishly. "We weren't very sure whether to be surprised at EunHyuk or at you being there. So it's kind of a weird situation right now."
"Hey, I didn't ask you to watch me," protested EunHyuk.
"Yeah, well, you were right in the middle of the room, we couldn't help it," said YeSung. He turned back to me. "Anyway, DongHae was really quiet in the car, so don't be too hard on him, right? He usually voices himself out, so him being quiet is something you have to take seriously, it means he's feeling a lot of different emotions right now."
I nodded. "Yeah, I know... well, I think I do... but why is he...."
"Aww, YeSung hyung, you sound like one of our song lyrics," remarked EunHyuk, grinning. YeSung put a -.-" expression on his face and bent his head, smacking his forehead at the same time.
"He's been a bit down since you left, but you probably don't see that part of him in music videos and our self-cams. We're all like that, there are some parts of us that we don't show to the public," said LeeTeuk, with a slight smile at YeSung's reaction. "You noticed?"
"Umm, actually..." I started, but HyunJae cut in.
"We haven't watched any videos with you hyungs in it apart the one where HyukJae oppa filmed DongHae sleeping," she explained. "We really haven't been, uhh, following you hyungs anymore." She looked slightly embarassed. "Sorry," she added.
EunHyuk draped his arms around her as we entered the lift. "Don't worry, I think I understand why," he told her. She smiled back at him. "And there were some really bad hair days of mine in some of the videos," he added, laughing.
"I remember filming DongHae sleeping," said YeSung suddenly. "He called out your name, JaeHwa. I remember we had to cover up really quickly so the fans wouldn't suspect anything."
"Oh yea," muttered EunHyuk. "What did you do after you watched it?" he asked me.
"We called the radio station, entered a contest and won two tickets to hang out with you," I replied. LeeTeuk scratched his head.
"Well, that sounds like a pretty reasonable reaction... I think," he said. YeSung suddenly started laughing so hard that he fell to the ground. We looked at him, then at each other with quizzical expressions. EunHyuk shrugged, pulling a he's-crazy-face.
"Why do I feel like we're not going anywhere?" asked LeeTeuk, mystified.
"Because... we're.... not...." gasped a voice from the floor. I looked back down at YeSung. Tears were running down his face. Man, that boy could laugh. I started giggling too.
"Oh," said EunHyuk, realisation dawning on his face. He reached out and pressed a button on the panel, then laughed too. "Man, we talk too much sometimes." Soon we were all chuckling over our moment of absent-mindedness.
"Hey YeSung hyung, when they ask why your eyes are red, can I say it's because you've realised that you can't be without KangIn for 5 minutes?" asked EunHyuk. YeSung tilted his head to one side and gave him a blank expression. It looked really creepy, paired with his black emo-ish hair and earring. EunHyuk pulled a scared face. "I guess if I do, you'd haunt me in my dreams, huh?"
YeSung nodded. Slowly. It was starting to give me the creeps.
"YeSung oppa, you're scaring the hell out of me," I said. YeSung reverted back to his normal face, then gave me a light hug
"Don't worry, JaeHwa, that face is reserved especially for EunHyuk, no one else," he said.
"Damn," said EunHyuk. "Gives me the creeps too."
"Well good, don't expect a hug from me."
The lift stopped.
"Right, your home for the next two days!" said LeeTeuk happily, pulling me out of the lift.

It's You Chapter 21
"We'll see you in 2 days, right?" said my father as we got out of the car.
"Don't worry Appa," I said, laughing. "We'll still be alive when we come back."
"Just making sure. You might be die from all the screaming. Don't come back with a sore throat, alright?" He laughed as I rolled my eyes.
"Be careful, JaeHwa," said my mother. "Don't do anything stupid and make sure you're not alone with them even for a minute."
"Umma, there are 13 of them. And they're nice. They're superstars for crying out loud. And I don't think they're idiots."
"So what if there are 13? And so what if they're famous? They're still grown men and you're still an 18 year old girl. Understand?"
"Haish, okay okay. See you in 2 days!" I closed the door and they drove off.
"Gee, I never knew your parents were so funny," said HyunJae, laughing.
"You should try and live with them," I said. "It's like a circus." I sounded more relaxed than I felt. In fact, I was feeling anxiety, excitement and dread all at the same time. At least it meant that I had more of an emotional range than a teaspoon.
HyunJae looked at me. "Nervous?"
I nodded. "And I feel stupid standing out here carrying a bag. We look like lost tourists."
"Hey, it's a small bag, it's 9.30 in the morning, and we're at the back door. No one's even looking for us I bet. YunHo said 10am SHARP, you know. We're early. We can bum around for a while."
"We'll have plenty of time for that, I doubt we'd be there for the actual fan meeting. I mean, we're already meeting them face to face, we don't need to see them perform."
"Yeah, I guess you're right. Anyway, let's go in, the guy at the door there is looking at us funny."
We both walked over to the guy standing in front of the doorway.
"And who are you two?" he asked.
"Umm, we're the ones who are only supposed to come at 10?" said HyunJae. I nearly laughed. What a way to describe us. I wouldn't have been surprised if the guy hadn't kicked us out right there and then.
"Right. Can I see your ID?" He held out a hand. I pulled out my card and so did HyunJae. The guy slid our cards through some machine and looked at the screen in front of him. "Okay, that's fine. Go look for YunHo. Have a good day." He handed back our cards.
"Thanks," I said, following HyunJae through the door. He nodded back at me.
"Hey, cool, this is like a real backstage concert," remarked HyunJae.
"That's because it IS a concert hall, and we ARE backstage," I told her. She laughed.
"Hey, look, there's YunHo!" she said, pulling me into a room. "Hello, YunHo sshi!" she called out. She seemed unusually bouncy, and I realized that she was nervous. She was always bouncy when she was nervous.
"Ah, JaeHwa sshi and HyunJae sshi!" YunHo looked at his watch. "Early, are we? Never mind, it's better than being late. I'm really sorry girls, but you won't be allowed into the fan meeting. You'll have to hang around backstage for about 5 hours. Think you can last that long?"
"Oh, we kind of anticipated it," replied HyunJae. "Will we be allowed out? Or maybe like walk around looking at stuff?"
"Sure sure, anything, just don't get in the way of anyone, alright? Oh, you're not allowed in the electronics or lighting areas, but anywhere else is fine. Got that?"
"Yea. We'll just dump our bags and take a look around."
"First door to your left."
We walked out of the room and went into the room. It seemed like a lounge area, it had couches and tables everywhere. HyunJae and I dumped our bags on a couch, then went out to explore. I was already bored. When it was 10, HyunJae and I decided to go out and walk around. The guy at the door opened it for us.
"What's your name?" I asked. "So we can be properly polite to you."
The guy laughed. "You can call me KiBum. JaeHwa sshi and HyunJae sshi right?"
"Hey, how'd you know?" asked HyunJae, sounding suspicious.
"It was on your cards, remember?" replied KiBum.
"Oh yeah... well, see you around KiBum!" I said, walking away.
"And keep up the good work!" yelled HyunJae as she followed me.
"You are so lame sometimes," I said to her.
"Hey, somebody has to tell the guy he's doing a good job."
I rolled my eyes. "Whatever."
As we walked down the driveway, three black cars drove up. The windows were partly tinted, but I could still see the shadowy figures inside. As the first car passed us, I saw about 4 heads turn to look at us. HyunJae nudged me.
"Haha, we're turning heads, aren't we?" she asked, grinning. "We must be smoking!"
I laughed. We were both in shorts but I was in my usual sneakers and three quartered sleeve hoodie. HyunJae was in sandals and a singlet with a short shirt that could be tied up in front.
"In your dreams," I said, smiling. She grinned back at me. The second car passed us. Once again, I saw a flurry of movement as heads turned to look at us. "This feels really weird, all we're doing is standing here and they're looking at us. It's not like we're posing or anything."
"We're just naturally hot," said HyunJae, laughing.
As the last car passed us, I peered into the windows to see who was this unusually large group. I knew it couldn't be Super Junior, they'd used the front entrance the last time, they definitely wouldn't use the back this time.
For a second, this face stared back at me.
It was a face I recognized.
His eyes widened in shock and disbelief as he looked at me and he spun around in his seat to speak to the person behind him. That person poked his head over his shoulder.
I nearly keeled over in shock.
It was EunHyuk and DongHae.
In a split second, I grabbed HyunJae, whirling around, and started walking quickly down the road.
"Hey, what gives?" she protested. "I was enjoying basking in the stares!" She giggled.
"It was Super Junior in the car, EunHyuk and DongHae were in the last car!" I said, gasping a little.
"WHAT?!" HyunJae screeched, her happiness vanishing. She turned to look back at the cars and saw them in the carpark, climbing out of the car. They were... waving at us?
We both looked each other and ran.
---
We got back to the Nippon Budokan around 1pm. We spent three hours going around Tokyo, looking at the sights and hearing the sounds. There really wasn't much to do, but neither of us felt like going back so soon, even though we knew that Super Junior were entertaining the fans and were going to do so until 3pm.
"Welcome back girls," said KiBum when we walked up to him. "Guess bumming around Tokyo is better than sitting around backstage huh?"
"Haha," said HyunJae. "You could say that again. Hey, if you're bored, JaeHwa and I can take over your job for you."
He laughed. "You're a funny girl, that's good. I would let you, but I'd lose my job and you'd be banned. Nice try anyway."
"Oh well, it was worth a shot," I said, taking back my card. "Keep smiling, right?"
"Yes, and don't forget the important 'have a nice day!' to go with the big smile," he replied, giving us the all-important big smile. "2 more hours to go, you can always come and have a chat with me if you're bored."
"More like if you're bored," replied HyunJae, laughing. "How old are you anyway? You look our age!"
"Well, more or less, I'm 20. Just a uni student who needed a part time job, you know, tall, scary-looking, always ready to kick people off the stage." He laughed. "And thanks to your cards, I know that you're both 18."
"Hmm, maybe we should never throw the cards away," I said.
"Yeah, maybe. Anyway, get inside before the card refuses to let you go through. See you later!"
HyunJae pushed me through the open door. "He's nice," she remarked.
"Yeah, and hilarious," I added, when suddenly laughter filled the air. I thought that there was a major party going on in one of the rooms, then realised that it was actually coming from the stage.
"ShinDong hwaiting! YeSung hwaiting! SiWon hwaiting!" the crowd started chanting. More laughter.
"God, they sound like they're high on helium," said HyunJae as we made our way to the room where our bags were.
"What's going on out there?" I asked one of the girls in Japanese, who was wearing an official tag.
"They're playing games, we'll be done in a couple of hours, they've just gone back out after a short break. Who are you two anyway?" she added.
I told her. She nodded. "Yeah, I heard YunHo-san talking about it. In fact, Super Junior have no idea about it, or about you. It'll be a complete surprise." She tipped her head to one side. "You two don't look like the screaming sort of fans like those out there," she said.
"Yeah, not really into that sort of thing," I replied. I was surprised that I was managing to keep this conversation going. I'd always stumbled during Japanese oral.
"Good," she said. "They don't particularly love the screaming sort. Anyway, I've got to run, nice meeting you." She walked off.
"And what just happened?" asked HyunJae, grabbing my shoulder. "I had no idea you were fluent in Japanese."
"Tell you the truth, neither did I." I told her what was going on and what the official had said.
"Playing games? Is the audience playing with them? Haish, this is going to be so boring." She flopped down on the couch and pulled out her music player from her bag. "Might as well utilize this thing," she said, plugging in. I stretched out on the other couch and pulled out the book that I was reading. "Evidently still into reading," said HyunJae, playing air guitar.
"And you're still playing air guitar," I shot back. She shot a quizzical look at me and pulled out an earphone.
'What?" she asked.
"Never mind," I said, giving her a -.-" expression. She shrugged and plugged back in. I went back to my book, and got lost in the story.
---
Lightning flashes. Thunder growls, threateningly. I call out, to someone, anyone, but the words are blown away as soon as they leave my mouth. The storm has moved fast. It's over me now. I start running, somewhere, anywhere, desperate for shelter. Hands are reaching down from the clouds, swooping at me, trying to grab me and drag me into the darkness.
You'll never get me alive, I think. I grit my teeth.
There it is!
A shining beacon of hope against the darkness surrounding me.
I rush into the apparently empty warehouse, closing the door behind me. The storm rages outside, battering on the walls, trying to get in and claim me for it's own. Ignore it, ignore it. "Hello?" I call out. Silence. I'm alone with my own voice. I settles down against a large beam, waiting for the storm to pass.
A small breeze blows behind me.
I turn around in fear, because I was sure that there were no holes in the windows or cracks in the walls.
"DongHae?!"
He smiled at me, that special smile that was reserved only for me. "Hey you," he said.
All of a sudden the back of the warehouse was ripped open. The wind swirled through the building, and I swear that everything in there grew wings and started flying at me and DongHae. He flew at me too and knocked me to the ground, protecting me from the objects.
"Hey...!" I protested.
"Just like the first time I met you, huh?" he said, smiling again, but before I could reply, he was suddenly pulled backwards by an invisible force. "Hey, what gives?!" he yelled. He stretched out his hands towards me and I caught them, but the wind was stronger than me.
"Don't let go DongHae!" I said, as the wind pulled both him and me backwards. But he only smiled at me, a sad smile this time.
"It's okay, JaeHwa, so long as I've seen you one last time, I can die happy." His feet were lifting off the ground. His hands were slipping out of mine.
"No!" I yelled. "I won't let go!" I was fighting back tears.
"Annyeong, Jaehwa. Saranghaeyo." His hands flew out of mine, and I watched him flying into the clouds.
"No....!" I yelled. "DongHae! Are you leaving me again?! DONGHAE!"
---
"JaeHwa!" someone called. Someone was shaking my shoulder. I opened my eyes with a start, staring into the face of my best friend. Where the heck was I?
"H-hyunJae...?" I said, bewildered. I sat up, shaking my head. I spied my book on the floor. "Oh, did I fall asleep...?"
"Yeah. You were thrashing around like crazy and screaming out NO! Did you have some sort of nightmare?"
"You could say that," I said, trying to remember my dream, but it had completely flown out of my head. "I can't remember it now though."
"Oh well, that's too bad," said HyunJae. At that moment, YunHo entered the room.
"Hello ladies! Did you have fun?" He grinned. I could hear cheers and screams from the stage speakers. "And they're done! They'll be coming in soon. Hey JaeHwa sshi, you look like you just woke up. Why don't you two go refresh yourselves?"
"Yeah, sure," I said, and we made our way to bathroom.
"Just a moment more," said HyunJae, sounding nervous. "Can't wait for their reactions."
"Yeah," I muttered. "Can't wait."
"Don't worry Appa," I said, laughing. "We'll still be alive when we come back."
"Just making sure. You might be die from all the screaming. Don't come back with a sore throat, alright?" He laughed as I rolled my eyes.
