Chapter 34 [Final]

General POV
DongHae stared at JaeHwa's unmoving body. "JaeHwa, get up," he said, voice shaking. He cradled her body in his arms. "It's me, it's DongHae. Please get up," he looked around desperately. Where was his phone when he needed it? He nearly smacked himself on the head. In the car. Of course.
He looked back down at JaeHwa and noticed that her eyes were moving. He patted her cheek encouragingly. "Wake up, Jae," he whispered.

JaeHwa
I think I can open my eyes now. I've scared him enough, and I feel totally mean. But it's taking my all not to burst out laughing. I mean, he's obviously extremely worried, but I like him to be.
I also like the feel of his arms around me. It's so nice and warm.
I opened my eyes, making sure to make sure it was nice and slow. This was easier than I thought. His worried face came into view, hair blowing in the wind. His expression rapidly changed to relief. "Thank God," he said, hugging me close. I decided it was time to pretend some more. After all, he can wait for a few more minutes.
I pushed him away, rapidly backpedaling. "You again!" I exclaimed, eyes wide. "What do you want from me?" I noticed the shoe in his hand. Heh. I knew he'd find it. "Why do you have my shoe?!" I demanded. He was still kneeling, and I was still on the ground, and it was so comical that I nearly laughed, but I managed to contain it.
He got up slowly, crouched down next to me.
"I found it," he said, handing it to me. "And yes, it's me again. It's me, JaeHwa, it's DongHae. You still don't remember?" He looked so hurt. I felt like crying. I really am a monster, hurting him like this. I remained silent, still staring at him.
"Here, I'll help you put this on," he said. I sat up gingerly, as he gently pulled the sneaker on to my foot. Our eyes remained trained on each other the entire time as he slowly tied my laces.
"I... I need to tell you something," I whispered.
"You can tell me anything," he said, sitting next to me, the worried look returning to his eyes.
I looked into his eyes. "You... you are the stupidest boy in the world!" I exclaimed, promptly bursting into tears and flinging my arms around him. We both fell over, sprawling into the grass. Sorry grass! I seem to be flattening an awful lot of you.
"What...?" he said, his face a mask of confusion, but his arms wrapped around me. As usual.
"I'll never forget you again," I sobbed into his chest. I unwrapped my arms from him and pulled back, letting him sit up. I was still sitting on him though.
"Wait... you remember?" he said incredulously as he wiped a tear from my cheek.
I nodded. "It all came back a few days ago. I needed you alone... so I came here."
"So all that back there... you were pretending?"
I nodded again. "I'm really sorry," I said dolefully. "But I-"
DongHae placed a finger on my lips. "You don't have to explain," he said gently. "I'm just so happy that you're alright. That you finally remember."
I stared at him. "I never really forgot you," I whispered, taking his hand. "You were always in here." I placed his hand over my heart. "And you always will be."
"Payback for what I did to you in the hospital, huh?" he grinned. He moved his hand and placed it on my head, stroking my hair. "It feels good."
I flung my arms around him again. "I've missed you so much," he said, kissing me on the head. "Don't ever leave me again, Jae."
"I won't," I promised, as he pulled me closer. "Never again." I raised my head and closed my eyes as I felt his lips crash against mine.
Finally.
I fell backwards into the grass and he fell on top of me. "Crap, why do I always do that?" he frowned, starting to get up, but I pulled him back down on top of me.
"I don't really mind anymore," I said, as he grinned. I traced his jawline with one hand. "You look so tired," I said, pouting. "You need to take a break."
"Well, it's all the worry you've caused me," he joked, pulling me back up. "Look, the sun's starting to go down."
I huddled against him as the sky turned into an artist's canvas of fiery colours. "It's so beautiful," I said. He lifted my chin to make me look at him.
"And so are you." He leant down to kiss me softly on the lips. I closed my eyes and our hands intertwined.
"I'll remember this moment," I said, huddling back down against him. "Even if... we end up not being together forever." The peachy-pink tinged clouds looked so cotton candy-like.
"What are you talking about?" DongHae laughed.
"You mean you think we'll be together forever?" I asked, surprised. "I'm surprised you still want to be with me after all I've put you through." The sea turned pink to match the clouds. DongHae moved slightly and I turned to look up at him.
He was smiling.
"Are you sure I'm the stupid one?" he teased. "I think that after all you've put me through these past two years, I doubt anyone would ever make me feel the same way again."
"Really?" I raised an eyebrow. The sun was steadily sinking, making his eyes turn gold and his hair blonde. He enveloped me and laid his cheek against my head.
"You don't have to worry," he said lightly as the sun disappeared into the sea. We watched the pinkness in the sky start to turn violet.

"When you ask again, it's only you."

THE END.

OMG, sooo sorry if the ending is really bad,
but I seriously couldn't think of a cheesier
way to end this.
Thanks to all those who followed to the end!
