It's You Chapter 9

"I should really be the speechless one... Running up 6 flights of stairs is really tiring, you know."
All I could do was stare at him, my mouth open. He reached over and closed it for me. "Something might fly in there pretty soon."
"Wha...wh... what are you doing here?" was all I could manage.
"I'd tell you, but you'd murder HyunJae sshi," said DongHae with a wink. He pulled me into the flat and closed the door. HE pulled ME into MY house. Something seemed very wrong here. "Wow, expected you to be like overly rich," he remarked. "Thank God you're not."
I felt faint. "I.... excuse me," I said, walking into my room. I closed the door and sat on the bed, breathing. Just breathe. In and out. You're still alive. If he came into the room... I looked around me. The walls were covered in Super Junior's pictures. I couldn't let him see them! I'd just be another crazed fan to him. I ran around the room, pulling down the posters and shoving them under my bed. I pulled off all the blu-tak and dumped it on my desk.
"You know that the polite thing would be to get me a drink, not hide in your room," came DongHae's voice from behind the door. I didn't reply, I was too busy straightening up my room. "JaeHwa? Are you alright?" I didn't even hear the door open. I only realised that he was there when I backed into him while looking at my new-and-improved-poster-free room. At the same time I noticed a giant black spider in the corner on the ceiling.
I screamed.
"You didn't even see my face and you're screaming," he said, but I had turned and buried my face in his chest. I was shaking. Spiders creeped the life out me. "JaeHwa, are you okay...?" he said, and I felt him holding me tight.
"Spider..." was all I could say, and I sounded muffled.
He looked up and I felt him stiffen. "That thing... is HUGE!" he exclaimed. "Damn, wish I was a girl so I could scream right now."
"Please get rid of it..." I whispered. I looked up at him and realized that his face wasn't that far from mine.
"Sure JaeHwa, if that's what you want." He grinned mischievously at me before grabbing the newspaper that lay on my bed and advancing to the corner. He pulled my chair over and stood on it, then reached out and swatted at the spider. It fell to the ground and he jumped after it. "Look out!" he yelled, pushing me on to the bed. I bounced on it while he squashed the spider with the newspaper.
I started laughing.
"First you scream, now you laugh. You're a funny one," he remarked, picking up the squashed spider and throwing it away in my trash can.
"Sorry, but it's funny to see you jumping around my room," I replied. I sat up on the bed and watched him warily. He sat down on the edge, gingerly.
"Yea, EunHyuk's usually the one with the reputation as a monkey huh?"
"Really?" I clambered to the edge of the bed and sat next to him.
"Yeah, it's pretty funny."
".... Aren't you afraid of getting caught?"
"It's late, it's raining, and let's be honest, no fan is going to be out looking for me at this time. Even the crazy ones."
"I have crazy ones in my school."
"How old are you?"
"I'm 17." I glanced at my computer, which had been open to my internet homepage... DongHae's profile on SMTown. Gah. He caught my glance and looked towards the laptop too. He turned back to me.
"What were you doing...?" he asked casually.
"I... was looking up some information on you..." I said lamely. It was the only excuse I could think of. He smiled and shook his head, looking down. I looked away. When I looked back, he was smiling at me.
He pulled me up and led me to the desk. He pointed at the laptop. "This is what I don't want you to do," he said, and closed the internet browser. "You won't learn anything from thies sort of stuff. I want you to learn about me... from me. Straight from the source, you know? Like that mountain water advert." He looked around my room. "And I still think that SungMinnie has a bigger teddy collection than you." He picked up my stuffed dolphin and brandished it at me.
"But.. that's my favourite...!" I protested.
His expression changed. He looked at the dolphin in his hands. "You probably heard of this, but my nickname is.. Fishy." He looked at me. "And your favourite toy is a dolphin. Coincedence huh?"
"That's... adorable!" I said. Then I blushed. He walkd towards me and stood in front of me. The dolphin was gone from his hands. He had his head cocked to one side.
"It's late... I should probably get back now."
"Oh... okay." I led him out to the living room and opened the front door. I raised my eyes to meet his. "Be careful, okay?"
"You be careful, you're the one who's staying at home alone."
"That's the thing. I'm at home. You're outside."
A smile played on his lips. "Goodnight JaeHwa," he said, stepping forward. I felt his hand on my hair, and then he kissed me on the forehead.
"G...goodbye DongHae."
He laughed lightly and went down the stairs. I closed the door and ran to my bedroom, my heart thumping like crazy. I was in seventh heaven.

The rest of the week passed in a blur. I didn't get to see much of DongHae, but we chatted constantly on the phone. He also talked to me via webcam. Sometimes he did funny things to make me laugh, like wearing one of SungMin's hairbands with antennas on it, or EunHyuk's infamous glasses with it's stuck-on eyes. Sometimes he was serious, and that was when I knew that maybe something had happened during practice, or he was still being hounded by reprters and fans.
Most times we traded little stuff about ourselves. I learned alot about him, most of which weren't on fansites or profiles. He told me that he missed his family alot, especially his elder brother DongHwa. "Did you know that if we put our names together, we'd get DongHwa?" he asked me one day and I realised that they did. I'd never thought of putting our names together before and I wondered whether he thought about things like that in his spare time.
In the 5 days that I knew him, I learnt more about him than I ever did in the 2 years of Googling him.
Three days before school started again, HyunJae's parents took HyunJae and me to the airport to meet my parents. It was nice to have them back, but it meant that I'd have less time to talk to DongHae in case they got suspicious. I also couldn't walk out of the house whenever I liked because it just wasn't done.
My parents evidently had a happy time in Japan. I was grateful that there was no news about DongHae's 'secret' there, or maybe they had bypassed it, having no interest in fan magazines (which I used to devour every month).
The day before school, my mother asked me whether I wanted to go out with HyunJae, because most likely I wouldn't have the chance to once we went back to school.
I jumped at the oppurtunity to see DongHae again.
I arranged with HyunJae to meet me outside my flat, and we'd go to the shopping centre near Super Junior's house. Nobody would ever know where we could go next, and if our parents asked, we could just say that we went to watch a movie (making sure that it was a movie we had watched over the holidays in case they asked us what it was about).
It was the perfect plan.
---
Since it was a Sunday, I was sure that the other SuJu members would be around. I mean, there weren't many people who worked on a Sunday, but then again DongHae had said that they were busy with the album.
I knocked on the door, feeling excited. There was no answer. HyunJae and I looked at each other, puzzled. She tried the door, and to our astonishment, it swung open. I poked my head and called out, but no one answered. Nothing was out of place, so it wasn't robbers.
HyunJae and I decided to split up and look in all the rooms. We didn't get very far.
The first room I went to was DongHae and SungMin's. As I opened the door, I was aware of a figure on the bed. "DongHae?" I said softly, walking over to it.
I turned the figure around.
And stared at a girl's lifeless face.
I screamed.
